US drone crashes in California waters

TEHRAN, Nov. 17 (MNA) – An American drone has malfunctioned and crashed into a guided missile cruiser off the coast of Southern California

Mehr News quoted an AP report that the two sailors injured in the crash were being treated for minor burns. The remotely-controlled craft reportedly veered out of control during an operation to test the USS Chancellorsville’s combat weapons system on Saturday afternoon.

No further detail has been provided for the crash.

This is the second drone crash after last week crash of another US drone near New York City after which New York City put a ban on drone flights over the city.

The US government has extensively used drones in military as well as collecting intelligence from its citizens.
